Healthy foods that might not be

You may have seen the newly released list of foods most often associated with foodborne illnesses. The top 10 list contains some healthy favorites. Here they are, starting with the most-frequent offenders: leafy greens, eggs, tuna, oysters, potatoes, cheese, ice cream, tomatoes, sprouts, and berries.

The good news is that this new report from the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a nonprofit health advocacy group, may very well nudge us closer to the stronger regulations we need to keep our food safe.

We urged Congress to pass legislation earlier this year. Go here to make your voice heard. And in the meantime, don’t stop eating these healthy foods. Just be sure to buy them fresh, wash them well, and store them safely.
