I love the stores this time of year. The holiday decorations are all out, and I usually stroll aisle-by-aisle checking out what I will buy … the day after Christmas. This has always been my favorite shopping day.
This year, though, the stores are already offering huge discounts on wrapping paper, boxed cards, tags, lights—everything that I usually buy after the holidays.
Making gifts: I stopped by one of my favorite craft stores recently since it has weekly coupons in the newspaper for 40 to 50 percent off one regular-priced item. I’ve been stocking up on lollipop and popsicle craft sticks, small plastic bags, and curling ribbon for my famous chocolate lollipops and Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies on a stick (everyone’s favorite).
Some craft stores are also offering free holiday demo workshops for both young and old. The items seem relatively inexpensive and easy to make. What fun to attend one with your son and/or daughter and have them make their very own gift for Grandma or Grandpa!
Why not check out what your favorite craft store is offering? Michael's is offering a number of different kinds throughout December. And check your local A.C. Moore for holiday classes. Holiday gifts don’t have to cost a lot of money, as long as they’re made with love.Subscribe to ShopSmart today!
