If you’re looking for fun things to do with your kids but don’t want to pay full price, pay attention to timing.
Many bowling alleys, miniature golf and other adventure places have a discounted night or time. For example, at a water park about an hour from my house, it’s half price after 5 p.m. or $17.99 per person instead of $34.99.
If a discount day or time isn’t mentioned on the company’s Website, don’t assume it’s not available. Call and ask.
Also, be on the lookout for special kid programs for the summer such as Kids Bowl Free, which allows kids 15 and under to bowl two free games per day at participating bowling alleys across the U.S. All you have to do is register your kids on the site. If you want to bowl along with them, you can purchase a family pass for up to four adults for a one-time charge of $24.95. The program runs from May 24 to Sept. 19, 2010.
