7-Eleven having a 'Slurpee-bration'

By Anne Galletta on July 9, 2010 12:01:00 am

7-Eleven-Day-cup[1]  How appropriate!

On Sunday, July 11, 7-Eleven turns 83 and its Slurpee drink, which was introduced in 1966, will be 44.

Stores will be celebrating 7-Eleven Day and while supplies last, participating stores will be giving away a free Slurpee drink served in a free 7.11 ounce cup. To find a store near you, visit their website.

I was watching the news this morning and saw a segment about coupons being used to save money. Your editor said that before you go shopping you should always go online and print coupons. I agree but this is mostly being done by consumers for department stores, retail and restaurant chains, supermarkets and the like and NOT for local main street shopping and dining. There are online coupons available on websites like mine, budgetpak.com, for only local businesses like pizzerias, bagel shops, dry cleaners, car washes, hair salons, sneaker shops, dentists and so on.

Help your local economies and store owners who are suffering in this down economy by using their shops and coupons!

Sincerely,
Anthony Mendolia
