If you’re waiting until the day after Thanksgiving to start your holiday gift shopping, you’re already snoozing! Those early-morning doorbusters are for amateurs—it’s much nicer to sleep in, knowing that you already have a head start. Many retailers start knocking down prices way before Black Friday, and if you’re smart, you’ll get in on the early action.
In our November issue, on newsstands now, we’ve got the 411 on how to get ready for the holidays. Check websites to see who’s got the best head start on pre-holiday mark-downs. Last year JCPenney, Sears, Target, and others had great fall sales. Pay attention to Veterans’ Day markdowns and you may be able to bang out a bunch of holiday bargain shopping well before you start buying groceries for your Thanksgiving dinner. Stay in your PJs and shop from home or go to stores before the holiday crush begins for lighter crowds and a better selection of styles, sizes, and colors.
Once you have a few things put away, you can relax a bit and really look for the best holiday sale prices. Compare retailers’ holiday promotions on special Black Friday websites like BFads.net, BlackFriday.info, and TheBlackFriday.com.
