Bagging my birthday freebies

Thinkstock146967733_SSBLOG_birthdayfreebiesIt’s embarrassing, really—I’m singing “Go Jody, it’s your birthday” over and over again in my head. I wish I could stop, but I can’t! Every time I open my e-mail, it seems, I have another birthday gift waiting for me, in the form of some discount or freebie offer.

My birthday is at the end of the month, but as soon as the calendar turned to July, I started getting little presents in my e-mail and regular mail, too. The first to arrive was a postcard from my local Mexican restaurant: come anytime this month and enjoy a free entrée. The next day I got a card from my former hair salon, offering me a percentage off any service. They want me back!

Every year Sunglass Hut sends me a coupon—perfect timing for saving on some new summer shades. And that’s just for starters. Plus, when I’m out and about, you can bet that I won’t turn down any free dessert or comped cocktails should my friends let it slip that my big day is coming up … As I always say, you get one special day a year, so enjoy the special treatment!

Got a birthday coming up? Sign yourself up for some birthday freebies, as we suggested in our July issue, at HeyItsFree.net/birthday-freebies, BirthdayFreebies.com, and FreeBirthdayMeals.org. If your big day isn’t coming up, sign up anyway—some of the offers take a bit of time to come through.

When you go to redeem your birthday deals, be sure to bring your ID, just in case. Hand over your coupon right away so there’s no confusion later. If you don’t want people singing “Happy birthday” to you, say so in advance. Finally, remember to tip on the full value of everything you got, including the free stuff.

Happy birthday to you! (and me, too!)

Thanks! I'm excited to check these out. I also really like huledet.com I signed up with them and during my birthday month they sent me an email that had loads of freebie vouchers.
