We put the Schticky to the test

SSBLOG_Schticky2Can you really clean your home in a quickie if you use the Schticky?

You've probably seen infomercial pitchman, Vince Shlomi, hyping the Schticky lint roller's ability to remove cat and dog hair, dandruff, dirt in carpets and on car upholstery—and even how you can Schticky your pets! (Haven't seen it? Click here.)

Plus, he says it's reusable, so it's greener than peel-off paper lint rollers. Our lab put the Schticky and the similar Schticky Buddy (a silicon roller with rubber fingers) to a bunch of pick-up tests, and they passed. But it takes a lot more work than a peel-off roller.

What the ad doesn't show you is that the Schticky fills up fast, and when we rinsed it to reuse it, water got trapped and leaked out when we rolled it again. That could potentially stain some fabrics.

Bottom line: It may be greener, but it's a bother. To read the complete article, pick up the September issue of ShopSmart.
