Don't let the turkey get you down!

Do the words “Happy Thanksgiving” make you break out into a sweat? Do visions of leaden pie crusts dance through your sleepless head this time of year? Fear not, there is lots of help out there for the kitchen-challenged, or even if you are just in search of some variation on the same old theme to spice things up a bit.

Butterball offers a trove of advice in just about every format you could need—Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, the Butterball Cookbook Plus app ($4.99 through iTunes), their website, butterball.com, and their toll-free line 1-800-BUTTERBALL (800-288-8372), from now through Dec. 24.

The website will host live chats during November, and the Turkey Talk-Line is staffed with more than 50 experts to answer any question you might have about turkeys. Some of the puzzlers they’ve fielded are “Which pan do I use?” “Help—what do I do—my turkey is on fire!” and “When do I start roasting my turkey so it’s ready by halftime?”

The hot line schedule is 8 .am. to 8 p.m. (CT) weekdays through tomorrow, and from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Check the website for post-Thanksgiving hours.

And if sweets are your downfall before you even belly up to the table, try the Crisco hotline at 1-877-For Pie Tips (2-877-367-7438). You’ll get a live pie expert from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (EST), with holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through tomorrow.
